AERODRUG and DTF develops the
NL20®, a new nebulizer for all
upper airways indications, such as laryngitis or tracheitis.
- adapted particle size: MMAD=10µm
- good targetting of upper airways
- pulmonary drug deposition strongly reduce
In vitro evaluation
The NL20® nebulizer produce an aerosol with a MMAD equal to 10.1µm and with 77% of particles > 5µm.
- More details about NL20® aerosol characteristics.

In vivo aerosol deposition - Two nebulizer were tested in three animal models :
- a standard jet nebulizer ® (MMAD=4µm) usually used at hospital
- the NL20® nebulizer (MMAD=10,1µm)
- Animal model inhaled DTPA-Tc99m aerosol with face mask
- Images scintigraphic were registered (Gamma camera E-cam, Siemens) and aerosol deposition quantified into upper and lower airways.

- The NL20® nebulizer guarantee a high drug deposition into upper airway reducing for a 6 fold the pulmonary deposition of drugs with ENT indications.
- In summary, the NL20® nebulizer is adapt for a topical treatment of upper airways (trachea, larynx, throat ...).
